Production General Foreman Purpose & Scope: The General Foreman will report to the Operations Manager and is responsible for p roviding direction and oversight to ensure safe and efficient operations at our Columbia, MO facility. Ensure daily production is started at the targeted start times each day and there is a fluid handoff to Sanitation team members. The General Foreman is a hands-on leader who drives productivity, maintains discipline on the jobsite, and fosters a culture of safety and accountability. Implement Lean manufacturing practices and develop and measure KPI’s to drive continuous improvement across the operations teams on the shift. Responsibilities: Direct and support second-shift leads and production activities Oversee and promote, with leading by example, safety trainings and compliance for all employees Execute plant scheduling of finished product Direct operations shift activities across the plant floor Champion lean manufacturing training and shop floor education for the shift Ensure effective use of operating methods and procedures to eliminate problems and improve product quality Review and analyze daily production data and align resources to achieve daily work plan Achieve operational goals regarding safety, quality, yields, labor and cost savings Implement continuous improvement processes to improve yields and profitability Assist HR with hiring, training and developing all Line leads and hourly team members Coach/develop workforce to maintain employee engagement and identify the next generation of leaders Must be able to work overtime and on weekends Other duties as assigned Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and GMP requirements throughout the facility. Responsible for working relations between USDA, FSQA and other plant personnel Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, and company standards. Conduct routine inspections and immediately address any deviations or risks. Enter work orders into SAP and work closely with maintenance to ensure efficiency The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Working Conditions: 40 to 50 hours per week Plant setting 100% Willing to travel for trainings and intercompany support when needed Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of food manufacturing experience, meat industry experienced preferred College or technical degree with emphasis on critical thinking; or an equivalent combination of related experience and education Basic understanding of meat processing, including equipment and packaging Good interpersonal relations with the ability to handle conflict. Team player with leadership skills Competent with Computers and various office software; SAP experience strongly preferred Outstanding communication skills in order to lead, engage and motivate individuals and/or teams.
