We are proud to be the largest bar soap manufacturer in North America and the flagship Dove bar factory in Unilever. The purpose of this Production Supervisor is to oversee the shift safety, quality, production and people development/management of the site's bar soap manufacturing department to achieve continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

  • Work as a trusted guide to plant management for all production related queries.
  • Drive execution of the production plans for a shift of approximately 25-30 union workforce personnel.
  • Teach the team to perform their roles in compliance with the written regulatory programs for the site in operation 24x7.
  • Provide a common standard of communication and engagement across the factory.
  • Work closely with core factory functions such as Manufacturing, HR, Quality and Safety.
  • Utilize appropriate safety and environmental procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Reduce costs due to waste and minimize impact to health, safety and the environment.
  • Apply core knowledge of Quality skills to sustain Quality standards in the factory operation.
  • Promote the development of a highly effective team through authentic leadership and clear communication.
  • Facilitate technical improvements using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and UMS improvement tools.
  • Coach Operators and teams to increase team performance and hold them accountable.
  • Make governance decisions for the team and resolve unresolved team issues.
  • Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses.
  • Identify, prioritize and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Coordinate business resources and apply risk management processes.
  • Prepare work plans within resource constraints and review implementation to drive improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably within a STEM discipline.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably managing teams.
  • Experience in managing people, guiding them and holding them accountable.
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end manufacturing process, including chemical and electro-mechanical processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical diagnostics, identify key issues and process risks.
  • Flexibility to work on a shift rotation including weekends, nights, afternoons and holidays.
