About The Position

At GT’s Living Foods, our Production Forklift Operators I, ensure that our production departments have all the ingredients and materials necessary to maintain the flow of production. Production Forklift Operators (I) are responsible for transporting and storing pallets of materials and ingredients throughout the warehouse facility using a sit-down forklift. Production Forklift Operators I are also responsible for verifying that the quantity and location of ingredients and materials are accurately entered into the ERP/D365 system, both physically and systematically.

Requirements

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment or Food/Beverage manufacturing (preferred)
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Sit-down forklift certification (required)
  • Available to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends & holidays
  • Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced/dynamic environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
  • Ability to problem-solve and escalate issues to the appropriate party
  • Strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to reference documents and accurately enter data.
  • Good knowledge of math.
  • Ability to use the Microsoft system.
  • Demonstrates teamwork as well as the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of safety, GMP, and PPE requirements
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as D365 (preferred)
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect forklift for damage and complete 'Forklift Operator's Daily Checklist' prior to operation to confirm forklift functions properly
  • Review the ingredient and material order schedule and assignment to identify the ingredients and materials needed for transport
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to transport pallets of ingredients and materials to one area in the facility to production staging areas
  • Use RF scanner to scan pallet license plates to track inventory and location of materials into ERP/D365 system (or fill out load map)
  • Escalate inconsistencies between systematic and physical quantities to management to help locate necessary product
  • Physically locate containers of materials and ingredients if they are not in the documented location in ERP/D365 system.
  • Use WMS (Warehouse management system) to pick material.
  • Use WMS to make transactions into the 365 dynamic, such as cycle count, inquiry location, etc.
  • Build and re-palletize pallets with identified materials and ingredients and wrap with shrink wrap
  • Transport and load pallets of ingredients/materials onto trailers for facility transfers using the trailer load map to ensure proper weight distribution
  • Adhere to all quality, food safety and workplace safety standards, such as GMPs, Lockout/Tagout, OSHA guidelines and other company policies and procedures
  • Clean work area as needed to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Occasionally assist Pallet Jack Operators by transporting pallets of ingredients/materials throughout the warehouse facility, using the pallet jack.
  • Occasionally perform the duties of department associates as needed.
  • Load and unload the container with the material needed for production.
