Production Floater (7PM-7AM)
About The Position
M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where flexibility, teamwork, and safety are essential to maintaining consistent production flow. The Production Floater is responsible for learning and performing multiple production roles to provide break relief and operational support across the production floor. This role fills in for various positions as needed, supports packers by ensuring production supplies are stocked, and helps maintain smooth, uninterrupted production operations. Schedule: B Shift, 7PM-7AM, 2-2-3 rotation with every other weekend off.
Requirements
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift and handle at least 20 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand and perform work for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditions
- Ability to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- Previous packer experience or experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Responsibilities
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
- Install triggers, gaskets, tampers, vent plugs, metal or plastic spouts, and metal or plastic handles manually or using installation devices
- Provide break relief for other employees across multiple positions
- Keep production lines stocked with supplies without interrupting production
- Stop packaging and report products that do not meet quality standards prior to packing
- Make trays and boxes for pallets
- Print and label pallets of finished products
- Scan work orders and input required information using handheld scanners
- Operate Child Warning Stamper to apply labels to pails
- Complete required paperwork related to production counts and rejects for the shift
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 5S principles
- Load completed parts onto pallets
- Pull completed pallets and replace empty pallets using a manual pallet jack
- Band product together using manual banding equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
