About The Position

The Production Floater provides support to the Saw Team, Interiors Production, Thermo Broke (as assigned) when production demands are required. The responsibilities of this position will vary daily, requiring flexibility in the changing schedules and needs within each of the departments. The Production Floater will assist the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader(s) in constant collection of hardware, production materials and other tasks to aid in daily department efficiencies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and machine operation.
  • Ability to measure and perform mathematical computations; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to exercise active listening, analytical thinking, considerable judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including email, Excel, FileMaker and other software as required
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and crawl.
  • Frequently required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50-pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally subject to loud noise.
  • Safety glasses are always required on the production floor.
  • Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
  • Frequently subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current and exposure to heat and chemicals.
  • Occasionally subject to conditions including one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation.
  • Occasionally exposed to cold, hot, wet and/or humid shop conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews daily production schedules and job specifications within the department to identify the requirements for each job.
  • Keep entire department free of debris, empty cardboard bins into the compactor and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Support daily functions within many departments.
  • Reviews shop sheets to ensure correct product is cut to meet job requirements.
  • Supports daily production within Saw, Interiors, Exteriors production lines.
  • Organize inventory in an easy-to-access process.
  • Utilize machinery such as forklifts to load orders.
  • Maintain the quality and upkeep of warehouse equipment including machinery.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and organized work area at all times.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
