We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Production Supervisor to lead operations in our batch manufacturing paint facility. This role is key to ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on the production floor while fostering a high-performing team environment. The successful candidate should be open to work on a rotating shift schedule and oversee a team of more than 20 employees per shift. This position will be reporting to the Unit manager.

  • Lead and supervise 20+ production team members per shift in alignment with daily production goals and safety requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all batch manufacturing procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Drive daily execution of the production schedule while minimizing downtime and waste.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Right First Time (RFT), cycle time, yield, and productivity.
  • Follow Leader Standard Work and ensure adherence to shift routines, visual controls, and tiered accountability processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and lead problem-solving activities to resolve operational issues in real-time.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Quality Control, Maintenance, Planning, and Engineering to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Conduct effective shift handovers and maintain detailed and accurate production documentation.
  • Promote and enforce 5S practices, lean manufacturing principles, and a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve performance, build skills, and maintain high morale.
  • Act as the point of contact for shift operations and support management initiatives and site priorities.
  • Must be open to a rotating shift schedule every two months or as needed by the business (includes day, afternoon, or night shifts).
  • May require occasional weekend or holiday work based on production demands.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in batch or process manufacturing, ideally in paint, coatings, or chemical production.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage performance.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs and safety compliance.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP or other ERP platforms) is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and drive real-time decisions under pressure.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is an asset.
