The candidate will also serialize and maintain accurate logs for each product. Also, occasional troubleshooting and analyzing issues as they arise. A typical day might include the following: Firmware Maintenance: Installing the code for the firmware as directed by Engineering that runs on embedded systems or microcontrollers. This involves using programming languages such as C, C++, Assembly, or domain-specific languages for embedded systems. Testing and Debugging: Thoroughly testing the firmware to ensure it functions correctly, efficiently, and reliably on our products. This may involve running simulations and analyzing logs to identify and report any issues or bugs. Hardware Integration: Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure that the firmware seamlessly interacts with the physical components of the device, such as sensors, actuators, and other peripherals. Security: Ensure security measures within the firmware to protect against vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, and data breaches are functioning properly. This is particularly important as many embedded systems are connected to networks or the internet. Troubleshooting: Identifying and communicating firmware issues that arise, such as unexpected behavior, crashes, or performance problems. Documentation: Creating clear and comprehensive logs for serializing and maintaining each product.
