About The Position

The Fabricated Fittings Lead role provides leadership to the fabricated fittings team, coordinating work assignments, evaluating quality, and directing safe work practices. This role reports to the Yard Manager, Production Manager, or Plant Manager based on the location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, or in process of completion with a minimum of six months of manufacturing or production experience, including Prinsco experience.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram forms.
  • Experienced in or the ability to learn electrical knowledge for this job required under NFPA 70E electrical standard.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Forklift experience preferred with the ability to achieve a forklift certification.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds consistently, 50 pounds 1/3 of the day, & 75 pounds less than 1/3 of the day.
  • Using hands and reaching with hands/arms for over 2/3 of the workday.
  • Standing, walking, climbing, or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling for over 2/3 of the workday.
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors.
  • Ability to work in a production environment that is not temperature controlled and occasionally in varying outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in a loud noise environment.

  • Coordinate the daily work assignments of all team members on the crew.
  • Provide daily leadership in safety and compliance.
  • Address performance and quality issues with team members as needed, including quarterly reviews and formal performance appraisals.
  • Participate in the interview and hiring processes.
  • Manufacture standard and non-standard fittings utilizing engineering drawings and equipment of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Compete electric work as per job requirements and training under NFPA 70E electrical and arch flash requirements.
  • Read and interpret drawings and listen to verbal instructions to calculate the dimensions of each fitting and adhere to Prinsco quality standards.
  • Operate an assortment of power tools safely and accurately including band saws, extrusion welder, and radial arm drill.
  • Operate a forklift to move products to desired locations.
  • Consult with experienced other personnel as needed to produce fittings.
  • Verify that finished goods meet Prinsco’s quality standards, Identifying and reporting defects or improper machine operations immediately.
  • Complete accurate, real-time reporting as required.
  • Assist other team members, as needed.
  • Focus on cross-training, continuous learning, and improvement.
  • Train in additional skill levels, including machine operations, computer requirements, and paperwork.
  • Participate and support the Continuous Improvement (CI) culture.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
