Fuel your passion The Production Engineering Technician is supporting manufacturing operations by performing equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and technical repairs across the production floor. The role is contributing to equipment uptime, product quality, and process reliability by collaborating with engineers, technicians, and cross‑functional teams. By developing specialized technical skills and participating in continuous improvement initiatives, the technician is strengthening operational efficiency and ensuring smooth, safe, and high‑quality production performance. As Production Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for: Assisting in maintaining plant production by performing repairs within scope of expertise Interpreting and following through on repair and preventative maintenance tasks using safe work procedures Learning to identify equipment malfunctions and repairing issues before catastrophic failure Operating medium‑sized manufacturing equipment such as laser welders, PC‑based systems, robotic arms, and PCB testers Collaborating with supervisors, process engineers, peers, and technicians in a team‑driven environment Performing cross‑functional duties across the manufacturing floor as operational needs evolve Performing troubleshooting on optical, electrical, mechanical, and PC‑based production equipment Maintaining equipment to ensure minimal downtime and consistent operational performance Performing monthly preventative maintenance on production equipment Participating in and occasionally leading capital equipment purchasing, acceptance, and implementation activities Conducting teardown of suspect or defective products to support failure analysis Troubleshooting and repairing micro‑optical and electrical products Applying fine wire and cable processing skills where required Performing soldering on microelectronics and fine wires Recognizing defects on printed circuit boards and escalating issues appropriately Participating in or leading root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action activities for product failures and process improvements Supporting sustaining engineering and manufacturing process improvement projects Collecting data for production trends, FPY metrics, and process improvements to address recurring issues Providing data‑driven feedback to production leaders, engineering teams, or assigned groups Purchasing spare parts and supplies to maintain uninterrupted equipment uptime Performing other duties as assigned by the manager Operating with a high sense of urgency in a fast‑paced, lean, and collaborative environment

Requirements

  • Have experience in troubleshooting and repairing production or manufacturing equipment
  • Have exposure to optical, electrical, mechanical, or PC-based equipment repair
  • Have familiarity with preventative maintenance practices
  • Have experience working in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
  • Have ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and technicians
  • Have strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to production issues
  • Have willingness to embrace lean practices and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Have experience with micro‑optical or micro‑electronic repair (preferred)
  • Have fine wire, cable processing, or micro‑soldering experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supporting sustaining engineering and manufacturing process improvement projects
  • Collecting data for production trends, FPY metrics, and process improvements to address recurring issues
  • Providing data‑driven feedback to production leaders, engineering teams, or assigned groups
  • Purchasing spare parts and supplies to maintain uninterrupted equipment uptime
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the manager
  • Operating with a high sense of urgency in a fast‑paced, lean, and collaborative environment
