About the position

The Production Engineering Supervisor/Assistant Manager at Toyota Industries Group is responsible for leading the production engineering department, focusing on optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring efficient operations. This role involves planning and coordinating maintenance activities, supervising staff, and implementing continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing. The position requires collaboration with various departments to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility before and after engineering releases.
  • Lead Kaizen and cost reduction activities and projects.
  • Coordinate engineering releases and changes related to routings and quality control to meet customer requirements.
  • Utilize CAD software for designing and developing equipment and parts drawings, including 3-D imaging.
  • Determine priorities with the Production Manager and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Investigate, justify, purchase, and track company assets.
  • Conduct layouts and supervise necessary construction for plant expansion or alterations.
  • Mentor junior staff in leadership ideals and TICO practices to develop management skills.
  • Maintain high employee morale and promote a positive teamwork environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 2 years of Toyota Industries Group experience at the senior level or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD/Inventor/CATIA).
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical design.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis.
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in SMT and PCB processes is desirable.
  • Possess problem-solving skills and effective communication skills.
