As a Production Engineering Intern at United Launch Alliance, you'll gain hands-on experience and will have the opportunity to support the design and implementation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and planning for multiple hardware build items across factory assembly areas. You will develop sequences of operations and specify procedures for hardware in assigned work centers, inspect machinery, equipment, and tools to verify performance, identify deficiencies, and recommend or initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality. Additionally, you will collaborate with design engineering to ensure products meet requirements and can be manufactured efficiently using optimal equipment and techniques. You will work with quality engineering and production operations to resolve issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain compliance with regulations. Troubleshooting to resolve manufacturing challenges, keeping production on schedule, and supporting process improvements will also be part of your responsibilities. You will partner closely with technicians during the build process to ensure smooth execution and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver on manufacturing objectives. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the ULA community and with fellow interns.
