We’re looking to expand our team across the board. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated, energetic Production Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will develop production processes, drive process improvements in the assembly, test and integration of space vehicles and guide junior engineers. This is a highly collaborative role supporting production operations, planning and sourcing of hardware and industrialization of new space vehicle programs. This role will drive production efficiency and introduction of appropriate technologies to drive shop productivity, safety and quality. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience within the aerospace manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic and mechanical assembly drawings and define manufacturing steps to meet all requirements.
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing processes (i.e., hand solder, bonding, conformal coating, wiring, crimping).
  • Managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) within an (ERP) environment and coordinating changes and improvements with the design engineering team.
  • Experience with nonconformance processing and root cause/corrective action analysis and execution.
  • Competent user of common computer programs (e.g., MS Office Suite, SharePoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to work fulltime in office

Responsibilities

  • Support development of manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment for new products
  • Improve manufacturing work instructions in collaboration with production.
  • Provide floor support for assembly and integration of space vehicles.
  • Drive process improvements by participating in kaizen projects to eliminate waste in assembly and integration processes and support scaling of production.
  • Maintain manufacturing standard work, tool and equipment calibration.
  • Conduct assessment of process safety risks and implementation of effective actions to mitigate, eliminate risks.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) by performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing sustainable corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
  • Assist in creating training materials and implementation of training for technicians.
  • Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) within an (ERP) environment, coordinate changes and improvements with the design engineering teams.
  • Coordinate with multiple functional disciplines to solve complex technical and production problems.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
