The Production Engineer will support the transition from product design to efficient manufacturing. This role focuses on final acceptance testing and involves troubleshooting, process standardization, and quality improvement. The ideal candidate will develop manufacturing documentation, automate engineering tasks through custom software tools, and manage data systems that streamline production workflows. Strong communication and a continuous improvement of mindset are essential.

Requirements

  • Experience with 600VAC testing and safety procedures.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical and / or electronic manufacturing operations.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Experience with implementing automated systems.
  • Bachelor of Science in a technical/engineering discipline (prefer electrical).

Responsibilities

  • Provide point-of-contact liaison between design engineering and manufacturing.
  • Identifying appropriate manufacturing processes for components, assemblies and testing.
  • Creating manufacturing documentation.
  • Meeting with production managers to assess existing processes.
  • Drafting process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
  • Performing risk assessments.
  • Design and test process improvements.
  • Ensure processes comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform process simulations and troubleshooting issues (PFMEA).
  • Improve routines and best practices to ensure product quality.
  • Develop standardized operating instructions.
  • Provide the supervisor with process documents and standard operating procedures.
  • New design review for manufacturability and manufacturing efficiency.
