The purpose of this position is to fabricate metal and/or media-based parts at workstations to create small to medium sized assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous power tools/machines, equipment with blueprints and route sheets. The role also involves painting and/or assembling/packaging units to customer requirements/specifications and reworking materials/assemblies when necessary. Additionally, the employee will fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements.

Requirements

  • Education consisting of a high school diploma/GED.
  • Six months experience in manufacturing. Vocational training in building trades and/or welding can be substituted for manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand tools and/or machines to fabricate and/or assemble complex parts in accordance with engineering specifications and procedures.
  • Lifting, moving, and standing at workstations.
  • Operate multiple types of machinery to process materials/assemblies through facility.
  • Inspect parts using quality inspection tools such as calipers, height gages, etc.
  • Complete first piece inspections and non-conformance reports.
  • Evaluate and calibrate parts in accordance with acceptance test procedures.
  • Understand and follow 'work instructions' and 'routings.'
  • May assist in orienting and training of inexperienced employees.
  • Comply with all DOT, HAZMAT, Donaldson Safety Framework and environmental policies/laws/rules and company codes of conduct/procedures.
  • Use all designated Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Benefits

  • Starting wage is $20.75 hourly during training and will increase to $23.23 (+.50 cents shift differential) after successful completion of 90-day probation.
  • Overtime opportunities available (both voluntary & mandatory).
  • Union membership/dues required per the Chillicothe Business Agreement (contract) provisions after successful completion of probation.
