Sandvik Camarillo is seeking a Production Development Engineer to play a pivotal role in launching new products and optimizing production processes. You will be working cross functionally with various teams to enhance productivity, quality, safety and cost-efficiency across the operation. You will utilize your skills and experience to launch new products, troubleshoot processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or production engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven track record in productivity and process improvement, and successful execution of investment or development projects.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and root-causing manufacturing equipment.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing principles.
  • Fosters an environment that welcomes and encourages new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and opportunities for product improvements.
  • Strong analytical, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous and automated improvement in production processes focusing on EHS, quality, productivity, and cost-efficiency.
  • Support and develop operational processes, including the implementation of new methods, equipment, and technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and global stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and project execution.
  • Manage and maintain production documentation including SOPs, process flows and tooling/fixture development.
  • Lead and support NPI activities, including prototype builds and production line setup.
  • Provide timely and professional support to shop floor operations, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis of process and quality issues.
  • Participate in and lead development projects aimed at improving productivity, quality, and volume.
  • Train and develop operator knowledge and workmanship.
