Overview The planner position for the Sheetmetal discipline is in support of various programs including Virginia Class New Construction, VPM, and Delivered Ship availability. The successful candidate filling this position will be required to perform Planning functions which include, but are not limited to, Product Structure Pre-Starts, LSYD, Change Maintenance, Work Package Rollovers. Successful candidates will be working various product lines within the Sheetmetal discipline such as Vent, Joiner work, Sound Dampening, Lockers and Stowage’s, Paint and Special Hull treatments. In order to perform these functions, successful candidates will be required to interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support organizations at various levels of management. The Individual filling this position will be called upon to represent planning at various Construction statuses, Process Improvement and Program Review meetings. The successful candidates will be expected to be aware of and in compliance with those attributes of Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement as they apply to their position. This is an on-site position located in our Groton, CT facility with core hours of 6:30AM to 3PM with flexibility as needed.

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Sheetmetal and/or Structural Discipline background
  • 1-5 years of Trade experience
  • Blue Print Reading experience
  • Ability to read and Interpret Construction Drawings
  • Strong PC computer and organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills

  • College Degree
  • Team Center experience
  • Electronic Desktop experience
  • Working/Reading Engineering Reports
