About The Position

The Production Crew position at Sandhills Pick N Pull involves contributing to the production team to ensure safe and efficient processing of vehicles. The role focuses on dismantling vehicles, managing core and scrap products, and assisting customers in a fast-paced environment while adhering to company policies and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to wear and maintain all prescribed PPE and follow basic safety practices.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including comprehension of basic safety messages and labels.
  • Ability to complete safety, environmental, and code of conduct training.
  • Able to work required hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Ability to work efficiently in various weather conditions for a full shift.
  • Experience in automotive repair or dismantling is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with automotive parts and/or retail customers is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with tools and machinery is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow company policy and procedures to set an example for the rest of the team.
  • Remove Freon, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, batteries, and excess garbage as prescribed by procedure.
  • Drain gasoline, coolant, waste oil, transfer case oil, and catalytic converters as prescribed by procedure.
  • Place vehicles on wheel stands for customer access to sellable parts and clean up the surrounding area.
  • Loosen motor and transmission mounts and remove remaining tires and selected core items as prescribed by procedure.
  • Remove heater cores, copper wire, and other items as prescribed by procedure.
  • Maintain the crush pad work area to reduce equipment downtime and ensure environmental compliance.
  • Dismantle engines and transmissions, remove selected small cores, and sort commodity materials as prescribed by procedure.
  • Operate the tire machine to separate rubber tires and wheels, remove weights and stems, and prepare rims for shipment.
  • Collect and harvest core dismantled materials and remove debris.
  • Identify and address safety risks in the customer area and assist customers as needed.
