About The Position

AAM is looking for a Production Coordinator to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Production Coordinator works with quality control, production control, manufacturing engineering, and maintenance departments to maintain schedules and affect changes and revisions. This role ensures maximum use of capacity and requirements, analyzes the quality and quantity of production, and institutes corrective actions to eliminate deficiencies. The coordinator monitors and addresses priorities, backlogs, breakdowns, and other aspects affecting planned scheduling, and participates in finding solutions for repetitive product complaints. Additionally, the role drives the implementation and usage of systems of production tracking and quality control.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field, or combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the automotive supplier industry as a Production Coordinator or a comparable position in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Management and Continuous Improvement (CIP).

Responsibilities

  • Manages production supervisor outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and correcting behaviors as needed.
  • Communicates job expectations and plans, monitors, and appraises job contributions.
  • Recommends compensation actions and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Sets production and support resource priorities.
  • Maintains manufacturing operations by following and enforcing standards and procedures and good manufacturing practices.
  • Coordinates production schedule requirements and capabilities, ensuring a steady flow of materials.
  • Solves production problems and directs equipment adjustments.
  • Documents manufacturing results by completing logs and records, calculating and reporting production, and noting variances.
  • Maintains quality manufacturing standards by completing production control charts and reporting quality data.
  • Analyzes recordings and statistics, studies, evaluates, and re-designs processes, and implements changes.
  • Maintains manufacturing equipment and processes by coordinating preventive maintenance actions and scheduling repairs.
  • Facilitates team discussions to identify equipment and process problems and identifies solutions.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy manufacturing environment by adhering to organization standards and policies.
  • Alerts others regarding potential concerns and contributes to manufacturing and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests.
