About The Position

The Production Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking all production activities within the sign manufacturing shop. This role serves as the central communication hub between production departments, Project Management, Account Executives, and Installation teams to ensure jobs move efficiently, accurately, and on schedule. The Production Coordinator owns the production schedule, drives adoption and accuracy of AlliedGO, and proactively identifies risks, delays, and resource conflicts before they impact delivery dates.

Requirements

  • Experience in sign manufacturing or custom fabrication strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows across multiple departments (fabrication, paint, electrical, cabinets, assembly, etc.).
  • High level of organization and scheduling ability.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Proficient with production software/ERP systems (experience with AlliedGO a plus).
  • Ability to work on the floor and in an office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the master production schedule for all sign manufacturing jobs.
  • Create and maintain department-specific schedules in tandem with department foremen/leads.
  • Balance workload across departments to maximize efficiency and meet committed ship/install dates.
  • Adjust schedules as priorities shift and communicate changes clearly and promptly.
  • Serve as the primary administrator and champion for AlliedGO within Production.
  • Ensure all departments are actively using AlliedGO for scheduling, job tracking, and labor clock-ins.
  • Maintain accurate job status, department assignments, and completion updates in AlliedGO.
  • Identify and correct gaps in system usage, data accuracy, or process compliance.
  • Lead and facilitate: Production Meetings JAM / Pre-Production Meetings (2x per week)
  • Ensure all jobs entering production are: Fully released Clearly scoped Properly scheduled
  • Communicate production priorities, constraints, and deadlines to foremen and shop leadership.
  • Be on the shop floor regularly to: Spot-check what jobs are actively being worked on Verify work aligns with the production schedule Identify bottlenecks, quality concerns, or material issues
  • Flag delays, challenges, or capacity issues early and work with foremen to develop solutions.
  • Escalate critical issues to leadership when timelines, quality, or resources are at risk.
