About The Position

The Production Coordinator will supervise and oversee the day-to-day operations and provide support for Performance Excellence activities and several administrative functions for the department. This position will provide support to the Department Superintendent in areas such as daily and weekly scheduling, coordination of training, action item follow-up, colleague development and reviews, as well as completing updates on standard operating procedures and training updates/development. The role is primarily a day shift position, but may require coverage for supervisors on other shifts when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently.
  • High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Manage plant operations to maintain personnel and process safety.
  • Work proactively with department to meet project and production completion deadlines.
  • Communicate timely with department superintendent to troubleshoot situations that may arise.
  • Interpret and ensure consistent application of organizational policies.
  • Ensure daily safety of all operations personnel through encouraging safe work practices and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Make recommendations for improvements to company facilities, equipment, and safety programs.
  • Coordinate operation of the production area to ensure adherence to established product, environmental, safety, and housekeeping quality guidelines.
  • Interact directly with Area Coordinators/Champions to produce desired operational results and employee development.
  • Work with Superintendent to coordinate department Performance Excellence activities.
  • Continually optimize processes to improve efficiency and safety in the production area.
  • Conduct daily review of paperwork including operational and quality reports.
  • Support outlying areas of the plant and provide guidance to area supervisors.
  • Lead development of area optimization projects.
