About The Position

The position involves maintaining schedules for material requirements and availability for the manufacture of industrial and commercial products to support production control by optimizing inventory storage systems. The role requires interfacing with various departments such as Production, Quality Control, and Purchasing to resolve issues related to material receipt and distribution. Responsibilities include making decisions on part categorization, researching kit shortages, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and participating in continuous improvement practices. The position also involves managing projects, analyzing material flow, packing and shipping orders, and conducting cycle counts to validate inventory accuracy. This is a night shift position from 1:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Experience with inventory operations within an ERP system (Deltek Costpoint) and Microsoft applications.
  • Capable of using forklift and other inventory-related equipment.
  • Minimum of 1-year materials and production control experience.
  • May require off Friday and weekend support.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Kiting.
  • Liaising between manufacturing and inventorying.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains schedules for material requirements and availability for production control.
  • Optimize inventory storage systems.
  • Interface with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve material issues.
  • Make decisions on part categorization, default bin size, and location.
  • Research kit shortages and expedite missing kits.
  • Understand, research, and reconcile traceability.
  • Ensure inventory processes comply with quality standards and procedures.
  • Participate in 5S and other continuous improvement practices.
  • Manage projects using relevant software tools and track completion dates.
  • Support the organization’s metric goals and objectives.
  • Analyze flow of material to reduce request to delivery time.
  • Pack and ship outgoing orders via UPS, FedEx, and various freight carriers.
  • Receive and transact all incoming material in MRP system.
  • Conduct cycle counts to validate quantity, revision levels, stock location, and transfers.
  • Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments according to schedules.
  • Assist in determining possible and actual shortages and initiate corrective actions.
