Production Control Supervisor

About The Position

Our Production Control team is a critical part of our supply chain, responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the flow of work required to build a variety of Impulse products. As a Production Control Supervisor at Impulse, you will oversee day-to-day production control activities and drive schedule execution to meet customer commitments. You will play a key role in leading continuous improvement efforts to optimize production planning, workflow visibility, and on-time delivery across our facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in production control, planning, or scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, capacity planning, and inventory control
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO9001, or similar quality management systems
  • Experience supporting R&D-to-production or low-rate initial production environments
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency with tools such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel or data visualization tools
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production control activities, including planning, scheduling, and work order management
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and internal milestones
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), capacity constraints, and material availability to proactively address delays
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing teams
  • Ensure accurate ERP/MRP system data, including job status, routing, and inventory transactions
  • Drive schedule adherence and implement corrective actions for production variances
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition from R&D to full-rate production
  • Analyze production metrics (on-time delivery, lead time, throughput) and implement process improvements
  • Supervise and mentor production control/planning staff as applicable
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, including AS9100 and internal quality requirements
