The Planning and Production Control Specialist I performs a variety of technical and business tasks in support of production factories or programs. The candidate needs to be energetic, willing to learn, able to work independently and have the ability and desire to be a change agent. This individual will manage multiple parts and the associated tasks listed below are necessary to prevent a work stoppage or a slip in schedule, both of which would have a significant impact to the factory and/or program’s cost and schedule requirements. This will be an onsite role in our Tucson AZ facility.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing, production control, supply chain, quality assurance and/or inventory control.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems, including production planning and Bill of Material (BOM) evaluation
  • Previous analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, teams
  • Previous experience interfacing, collaborating, and communicating with all levels of an organization, as well as with a large external customer base, to accomplish tasks.
  • Knowledge of government/depot processes with active DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage depot and production control processes, including scheduling, material flow, and shop floor coordination
  • Monitor work-in-progress, material availability, and production status to identify risks and resolve issues proactively
  • Maintain and analyze Bills of Material (BOM) and MRP data (SAP) ensuring accuracy and alignment with production demand
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and procurement to support production and prevent delays
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing inventory shortages, supporting compliance (DoD/safety), and providing status updates to program and operations teams.
