Production Control Specialist (Planner)

About The Position

Candidate will plan and optimize flow of approved materials, components, and related materials through all phases of material planning to meet production requirements. TAC Manufacturing, Inc. is a Japanese owned automotive parts supplier, serving the Japanese Transplants (Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, etc.) as well as the domestic OEMs (Ford and GM). Located in Jackson, MI, TAC Manufacturing, Inc. is a subsidiary company of Tokai-Rika Co. LTD, which is located in Nagoya, Japan. TAC was founded in 1991 and currently employs 700+ people at our Jackson, MI location. We manufacture security and safety-related products: shift levers, shift-by-wire, steering wheels, exterior mirrors, steering column locks, key cylinders, mechanical and remote keys, and more. Requirements

Bachelorâs degree or at least four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Material Planner with Lean Manufacturing experience such as; material/product pull systems, line balancing techniques, and time study experience preferred.
Will plan and optimize flow of approved materials, components, and related materials through all phases of material planning to meet production requirements.
Supports new products preparation activities in order to ensure that the start of the production is trouble free
Supports program balance out activities in order to fulfill customer orders and avoid obsolescence both in house and at supplier
Calculate requirements and issue component orders to our suppliers
Receive and input the customer orders and forecasts in the system, as needed
Contact the necessary supplier contacts
Monitor and track all open and past due orders from suppliers
Maintain hot kanban board
Support all departments within TAC when required
Monitor negative inventory
Monitor overstocked inventory
Daily Days on Hand monitoring
Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) to suppliers
Complete Inventory Adjustments
Complete Obsolescence Adjustments
Twice yearly physical inventory preparation and support
Component cycle counts
Prepare and maintain component tracking sheets
