About The Position

The Production Control Scheduler is responsible for scheduling, releasing, and tracking workflows (manufacturing orders) across the manufacturing plant to maximize shipments and manage fabric efficiency. The role entails analyzing backorders, current and future orders, and daily order entries. The scheduler uses sales order information to create clear, concise spreadsheets that are distributed to and prepared for all relevant departments. Furthermore, this role serves as a liaison between the planning, cutting, manufacturing, and shipping/receiving teams, facilitating effective communication and ensuring compliance with project requirements across all departments.

Requirements

  • Requires an associate’s degree in a related field or at least 5 years of experience in a production environment.
  • Strong organizational acumen, problem-solving ability, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with standard scheduling software.
  • Expertise in using Sales and Manufacturing Management systems and related software to track inventory, generate reports, and manage orders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and the MS Office Suite is required.
  • Must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and a high level of arithmetic skills.

Responsibilities

  • Creating a manufacturing production schedule, utilizing the full potential of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains , Exenta, and Excel reporting.
  • Research and assign manufacturing times and due dates as needed, including quarterly lead time adjustments based on historical data from Exenta.
  • Collaborate with the marker maker when preparing schedules to maximize fabric utilization by mixing sizes.
  • Review new sales orders to determine customer requirements.
  • Utilize the ERP system to enter Sales Orders and generate manufacturing orders.
  • Analyzing backorders, current and future orders, and daily order entries
  • Maintain 3 to 4 months of manufacturing orders in process at any given time and will release them once the planner raises awareness.
  • Release of manufacturing orders is performed by generating clear and concise cut schedules, which are then distributed to all pertinent departments.
  • Implement a process to ensure that monthly cut schedule reports distributed contain the latest revision generated and that all pertinent parties are adequately informed.
  • Accurately manage sales orders and manufacturing entry functions promptly to ensure the validity of information in the MRP report, including researching potential discrepancies and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Follow up on the Shop Floor and ERP system to ensure that Delivery Orders are executed on time, that units per CLIN are complete, and that said units can be reconciled with the physical inventory in shipping.
