About The Position

Under limited supervision, plans for and organizes adherence to monthly production schedules. Monitors Raw Materials Usage and customer future orders to cover all Raw Materials for Production needs. The Production Control Planner 1 works on a limited scope of the process. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years college or related trade education or the equivalent in job knowledge gained through on-the-job training and experience. Degree preferred APICS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follows the flow of materials from order through receipt, production, inspection, and shipping.
  • Responsible for issuing and revising the production schedules to ensure a controlled flow of material throughout all of production.
  • Generates requisitions to buy materials.
  • Attends meetings with production supervisor, leads, technicians, and responsible staff to update schedules and resolve problems or issues in production.
  • Ensures that material deliveries have been met, fixtures are available for parts, and that materials and racks are available for dates requested. When issues arise, must rework schedules, as well as notify sales if customer deliveries are affected.
  • Follows up on material shortages with internal suppliers, purchasing, and or external vendors. Interacts on daily basis with purchasing, suppliers, and vendors regarding delivery date issues.
  • Analyzes cycle time, vendor delivery schedules, inventory control, and order tracking to determine customer delivery dates and production commitments. Creates production plan with all supporting documents, to include work in progress updates, returns, plating plans and start schedules.
  • Responsible for monthly reporting of inventory levels.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
