Production Control Intern
About The Position
Production Control – Internship GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for Automotive industry Customers, Supplier accounts and Inter-Company accounts. Utilizing an MRP system to monitor plant wide inventories and generate Supplier demands. Utilizing EDI solution software to monitor customer demand. Manage problem solving and corrective action within the material department scope. POTENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Establish Raw Material Inventory Targets and work with Manufacturing to establish Finish Good Inventory Targets and monitor all inventories Communicate with Manufacturing on Customer Requirement fluctuations and adjust Targets/Max Run when needed in the Facility Planning and the Daily Production Schedules Understand and review Manufacturing’s production schedules Participate in New Model Start-up (APQP meetings) Maintain and track trials, ECI and Revision Level Changes Provide Build-out information to all necessary departments at SRK-OH and Suppliers Provide Forecast and Firm orders to all Suppliers utilizing an MRP system Monitor and manage Customer and Supplier Delivery Performances Develop Packaging Standards for customers and assist Suppliers on Packaging Standards Understand the Customer’s expectations and communicate their requirements to all affected departments at SRK-OH Establish and communicate SRK-OH standard to the Supply base Facilitate with claim meetings to determine the root cause and countermeasure for Customer Delivery claims The ability to work flexible hours on short notices and the flexibility to work overtime as required Follow all safety rules and identify any safety hazards OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB INFORMATION: Intern must be able to multi-task and be able to perform under challenging circumstances Associates at all levels must maintain their Roles and Responsibilities as outlined with SRK-OH’s policies and procedures to ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO9001 and ISO 14001. These industry standards are necessary to ensure continued Customer Satisfaction in relationship with our philosophy of Continuous Quality Improvement.
Requirements
- A basic working knowledge of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and TPS (Toyota Production System)
- A basic understanding of JIT
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent Software skills including MS Word and Excel
