About The Position

The Production Control Clerk performs clerical tasks in the production control function. One coordinates and controls work orders released to Production as well as goods moving back and forth between Production and Flight Team. Position Responsibilities Execute material repair orders when necessary to move product from SMRB to the repair work cell. Coordinate and alleviate identified work order part shortages by working closely with Purchasing, Quality and Production Planners. Update and prioritize the rework board in the production area, coordinating with production planners Proactively monitoring and expediting identified shortage parts that are in ‘inspection’ status, through quality, stockroom and onto work orders that are waiting for shortage parts. Working with the production leads to help move urgent product from one cell to another or through the stockroom. Issue items in a timely manner to work orders that are being collected and processed in the sell-off area. Notify planners in a timely manner of rejected, identified shortage parts or rejected production builds. Work with Quality to ensure identified shortage parts do not sit in SMRB for an extraordinarily long period Follows established procedures on routine work and may require instruction on new assignments Maintains a clean and safe work environment Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a production environment
  • Hands-on experience with MRP systems, material planning, inventory control and the generation and maintenance of work orders is required
  • Knowledge of computerized MRP systems is critical
  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent required
  • Must have good computer operation skills as well as proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees in the Company
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail and strong sense of urgency to meet schedule
  • Receives little instructions on daily work and general instructions on newly introduced assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and formulate and execute alternative plans when the need arises
  • Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) required, per ITAR definition

Nice To Haves

  • Any APICS training and/or certification is desirable, especially as it pertains to inventory control and material planning
