As a Material Planner / Production Control Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and components necessary to meet production and customer requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, solve production challenges, and ensure on-time delivery of critical materials to support manufacturing and Depot operations.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to obtain Interim [Clearance Level] U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Experience with Government and Depot processes.
  • Familiarity with reading and evaluating parts lists for production work and working within a production planning system.
  • Proven ability to work with multiple organizational levels and customer bases.
  • Current Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and coordinating material requirements to maintain a controlled flow of approved materials aligned with production and customer schedules.
  • Monitoring and updating the status of assemblies in progress, assessing material availability, and identifying potential production or Depot-related challenges impacting schedules.
  • Resolving production or Depot issues to ensure the availability of personnel, equipment, materials, and services.
  • Managing and analyzing Bills of Materials (BOM) of moderate complexity within an MRP system.
  • Confirming material supply and demand; preparing necessary work orders based on shop load and inventory requirements.
  • Summarizing inventory shortage impacts for assemblies and end items released to the production floor.
  • Providing weekly "can-build" and constraint reports during Line of Balance meetings.
  • Coordinating interdepartmental activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering teams.
  • Scheduling and expediting the movement of parts using move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests.
  • Interfacing with internal customers, including Value Stream Managers (VSMs), Value Stream Leads (VSLs), Manufacturing Engineers (MEs), Industrial Engineers (IEs), Quality Assurance, Work in Progress (WIP) managers, logistics, traffic, and DCMA representatives.
