About The Position

DG Foods is seeking a Production Clerk to support daily plant operations and leadership at our processing facilities. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate production documentation, supporting operational reporting, and assisting the Plant Manager with data analysis, scheduling coordination, and cross-functional communication. The Production Clerk ensures production data integrity, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and helps drive operational efficiency, yield optimization, and cost control. This role interacts closely with Production, Shipping, Maintenance, FSQA, Accounting, and Human Resources to support alignment and communication across the plant.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business, communications, or accounting, etc. is preferred. However, other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to learn and process information in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in both office and production environments.
  • Ability to work in a cold and wet environment when needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, poultry, food processing, or production environments is desired
  • Experience with ERP or production reporting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, verify, and enter daily production data, including pounds processed, yield, labor hours, downtime, and productivity metrics.
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly production and operational reports.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, shift reports, and department documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per pound, yield, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Provide direct administrative support to the Plant Manager and production leadership team.
  • Assist with daily production scheduling, shift coordination, and communication.
  • Maintain department files and ensure documentation is organized and audit-ready.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and operational communications.
  • Assist in tracking raw material usage, finished goods, packaging, and production supplies.
  • Support reconciliation of production records with inventory, shipping, and accounting systems.
  • Work with Shipping, Procurement, and Accounting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of operational data.
  • Assist in identifying operational trends and opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support cost control and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Help develop standardized reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Maintain production documentation in alignment with USDA, HACCP, SQF, and company requirements.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for internal, customer, and third-party audits.
  • Support record retention and document control processes.
  • Communicate frequently with production teams, corporate departments, and leadership.
  • Support collaboration between departments to ensure operational alignment and workflow efficiency.
  • Perform general office and clerical duties, including filing, answering phones, responding to emails, and managing records.
  • Support special projects as assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
