About The Position

In this role as a Production Engineer, you’ll take ownership of your assigned production areas, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations each day. You’ll work side by side with operators to resolve challenges, provide technical expertise, and drive improvements that enhance overall performance. You’ll be responsible for setting and achieving goals in EHS, product quality, equipment reliability, productivity, and stable operations. You’ll also play a key role in supporting capital projects, leading CapEx implementation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Please note that this role requires onsite presence five days per week, Monday through Friday Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a chemical production or chemical manufacturing environment, supporting day-to-day operational or process-focused activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize chemical manufacturing or production processes.
  • Solid understanding of core chemical engineering principles, including material and energy balances, thermodynamics, and process design.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with engineering or data analysis software.
  • Ability to contribute to and measure daily production and equipment performance within a multifunctional team environment.
  • Broad working knowledge of chemical manufacturing operations, with a demonstrated commitment to advancing a career in process or production engineering.
  • Demonstrated integrity, teamwork, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and technical disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship, co-op, project work, or additional experience within a chemical manufacturing or process operations setting.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma, SAP, ISO systems, or similar process-improvement and quality tools.
  • Understanding of chemical plant operations, process equipment, and EHS fundamentals.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental Health & Safety (EHS): Play an active role in building a strong safety culture across the site. Partner with senior engineers to support environmental compliance, health, and safety programs for your assigned production areas and product lines. Help maintain certifications, lead awareness activities, and promote safe work behaviors. Participate in specialized safety projects that protect both people and processes.
  • Production Area Support: Take ownership of day-to-day production activities and help keep operations running safely and efficiently. Drive improvements in equipment reliability, process consistency, and overall production performance. Work closely with business teams to understand product quality metrics and equipment capabilities. Learn the fundamentals of preventive maintenance, safety systems, emergency response, and quality testing in the lab. Contribute to prioritizing production goals that meet business and customer needs.
  • Problem Solving: Join cross-functional teams to troubleshoot operational, technical, and equipment challenges. Apply structured problem-solving tools while learning how to manage and maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) compliance. Use modern engineering technologies and data to help ensure equipment uptime and efficiency. Grow your skills in root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Measuring Results & Driving Improvement: Track production data daily to monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to evaluate results and implement enhancements. Learn how to translate data into actionable insights that keep processes running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Team Collaboration & Site Support: Work as part of the site management and operations teams to support broader plant initiatives. Partner with leaders and peers across departments to align on goals and share best practices. Build strong working relationships and gain exposure to different functions within the plant. Contribute ideas and energy to a culture that values safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Jump in where needed to support the team and learn from a variety of hands-on experiences across the site.
