About The Position

The Vacation Relief Operator learns all production positions in the Richfield Whey Plant to be able to perform assigned duties while regular assigned employees are away from work.

Requirements

• Perform simple math calculations such as addition and subtraction.
• Knowledge of proper safety practices in handling all chemicals and operating equipment.
• Self-motivated with excellent attendance record.
• Able to work 12 hour variable shifts.
• Computer experience.
• Must be mechanically inclined with knowledge of processing equipment.
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant.
• Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant.
• Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment.
• Excellent record required in safety, attendance, and punctuality.
• Ability to stand and walk the entire shift if needed.
• Ability to read and write instructions in English.
• Knowledge of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Learns all production positions in the Richfield Plant to be able to perform assigned duties while regular assigned employees are away from work.
• Positions to be learned would include RO/UF Operator, Trucal Operator, Hydro Operator, Intake Operator, Packaging, Provon Operator, Salibra Operator, etc.
• Performs duties in an efficient and safe manner on variable shifts.
• Keeps work areas clean.
• Takes assigned samples and troubleshoots equipment problems.
• Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety and Quality practices.
• Promotes and exhibits strong Sustainability practices.
• Promotes and exhibits strong Housekeeping practices.
• Reports Safety, Food Safety, and Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping problems to direct supervisor immediately.
• Actively participates in teams and on projects to improve the metrics for given area of responsibility.
• Complies with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
• Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
