About The Position

The Arc Minnesota promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, actively supporting them and their families in a lifetime of full inclusion and participation in their communities. For more than 30 years, Arc’s Value Village has provided funding for The Arc Minnesota programs and services, benefiting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. This position provides primary merchandise pricing support as well as sorting of product as necessary. It ensures that product is priced appropriately and that all production quotas are met.

Requirements

• Able to communicate effectively with customers, donors, and volunteers
• Able to lift boxes and bags that weigh 30-50 lbs
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop continuously throughout assigned work shift
• Able to work varied hours/days as business dictates

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred
• 2-3 years Thrift Pricing Experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Determines pricing for donated items, comprehending better quality
• Sorts and processes donations
• Makes quality decisions concerning merchandise (what to keep or discard)
• Tags and hangs clothing
• Maintains successful working relationships with volunteers
• Helps train and work with volunteer groups
• Works independently without constant supervision
