International Paper, Prattville Mill, a major pulp and paper producer is seeking its next generation of top operators. Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Minimum high school graduate, GED equivalent or equivalent work experience of 2 years
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (will be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces and includes repetitive motions (with proper safety training and safety protection);
  • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment;
  • Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment;
  • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment;
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule;
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification;
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis;
  • Wear required safety equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated stability through a consistent work history with at least 2 years consecutive employment; or,
  • Demonstrated combination of technical training and school leadership activities; or,
  • Other technical training or certifications such as Ready to Work programs; or,
  • Pulp and Paper industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a sit-down powered industrial truck (PIT);
  • Load and unload trailers;
  • Complete pre-use PIT maintenance inspection report;
  • Follow proper trailer loading and unloading lock-out/tag-out procedure;
  • Understand and follow load pattern according to trailer, railcar;
  • Follow all safety rules and practices at all times;
  • Pulls and prepares orders for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped;
  • Efficiently moves product from staging/storage areas and production lines into trailers and/or storing/staging areas;
  • Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment such as Roll & Bale Clamp Trucks. Maintains the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion;
  • Involves working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Guarantees inventory control and security are maintained;
  • Assist in physical inventories and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
