About The Position

Sand, perform cosmetic repairs, and prime doors and frames in preparation for painting. Paint doors, frames, and accessory components per shop drawing specifications. Be able to lift to 80 pounds, sitting, standing, reading and understanding shop sheets for correct material, color, size and quantity. Working with different chemicals, smells and dust.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Experience with painting/coating applications.
Tape measure knowledge
Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
Ability to read and understand process sheets and customer order requirements.
May be rotated to other positions inside the company to meet production requirements
Knowledge of workplace safety including safe lifting procedures
Follow the company's policies
Organizational, communication and listening skills

Paint experience (preferred)
Bondo Sanding (preferred)

Responsibilities

Review shop sheets for correct door panel information
Maintain visual acceptance criteria
Follow process instructions
Sand doors, frames, and all accessory components
Inspect for and repair cosmetic defects
Mix and spray primer on prepared doors, frames, and accessory components
Hang doors, frames, and accessory components for painting in booth
Select and mix paint according to specifications
Visually inspect prepared products to ensure they are clean before spraying paint.
Apply paint to doors, frames, and accessory components using appropriate spray mix and spray gun and examine finished surfaces to verify conformance to specifications.
Convey product in and out of the paint booth
Clean and maintain spray equipment
Install provided screws into drilled holes and label product
Package and palletize doors and frames for shipping
Monitor cleanliness of air filters (spray booth exhaust and door); replace filters, as required
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Dispose of hazardous materials and waste according to procedures, with the assistance of the Production Manager
Follow all safety policies and procedures in a manner so as not to create a health and safety hazard to oneself and co-workers
Cleans/prepares surfaces of doors, frames, and accessory components for painting, using tack cloths and compressed air
May be rotated to other positions inside the company to meet production requirements
