About The Position

Production Associate - Level I We are looking for a talented Production Associate - Level I - to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility Rocky Mount, NC In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Ensure Safety : By stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately, you will help maintain a safe working environment. Promote Health : Reporting any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards ensures that health and safety standards are upheld. Maintain Quality : Following standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures helps minimize costs and quality exposures. Achieve Production Goals : Operating manual and automated equipment efficiently to meet production goals and customer expectations. Support Teamwork : Communicating effectively with your team and support teams to improve quality, safety, processes, and material flow. Environmental Responsibility : Recognizing and minimizing the negative impact of your work on the environment. Continuous Improvement : Engaging in training and personal development to stay aligned with business requirements and improve your skills. Housekeeping and Maintenance : Keeping your work area clean and orderly, performing routine housekeeping tasks, and identifying equipment needing repair.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate stand-up PIV equipment in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse and manufacturing operations, including material flow and inventory control.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard work, safety procedures, and work instructions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating stand-up forklifts or other PIV equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems (e.g. RF scanners, warehouse management systems, or Oracle transactions).

  • Safely operate stand-up Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) equipment to transport materials throughout the facility, ensuring timely delivery to production lines and designated storage areas.
  • Perform daily pre-use inspections on PIV equipment and report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately to supervision or maintenance.
  • Support material flow operations by staging, loading, and unloading parts while maintaining accurate inventory locations and minimizing line downtime.
