About The Position

Collins Aerospace in Fairfield, CA is seeking a Production Associate II. The Propulsion Systems business of Collins Aerospace specializes in designing, manufacturing, and testing various energetic devices. Our products include system components that ensure the safe ejection of pilots from fighter jets and helicopters. Our team creates a range of cartridge-actuated devices, propellant-actuated devices, and linear devices that support military and commercial applications with pride. Your schedule will be Monday-Thursday 4:00pm to 2:30 am with overtime on a business need basis.

Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF)

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience using Citrix, SAP, Word and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and assemble parts.
  • Demonstrate proper use of simple hand and machine tools.
  • Accurately read and follow procedures, routing and other work instructions.
  • Responsible for quality product standards with no defects.
  • Ensure creation of parts meet customer deadlines and expectations.
  • Stay in compliance with applicable elements of quality systems.
  • Participate in cost reduction plans and continuous improvement plans/events as required.
  • Participate in audits.
  • Acquires applicable skill/knowledge/certifications as required.
  • Maintains materials, equipment, and work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Examines methods and results for conformance to standards and reinstruct as required.
  • Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
