About The Position

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of patio doors. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments. Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce patio doors, and glass unit installs May support the patio door operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or doors Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers Understand and carry out verbal instructions Read and carry out simple written instructions Read work orders, labels, and schedules Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects Make fraction and decimal conversions Operate any equipment needed to perform a job Perform other duties as assigned Provide on-the-job training to new employees

Requirements

Ability to read a tape measure as well as read and interpret fractions and decimals
Ability to read at least minimum word and number recognition/Visual Cues
Operate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPE
Identify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPE
Variations – having knowledge of measurement standards and tolerances
Follow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referencing Standard work instructions
Knowledge of product defects specifically to their workstation
Quality Recognition In station quality requirements/CTQ
Communicate Effectively by actively Listening, Explain Clearly & Accurately, Ask Questions, Share Important Info.
Time Management and aware of Cycle Times
Ability to perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimals
Interface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, identifying download
Stand for 8 to 10 hours using good Posture and repetitive motion
Problem Solving using Root Cause Analysis
Dependability being on time consistently
Profile Recognition ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawing
Monitor Inventory by adhering to min-max levels (WIP)Utilization of Scrap
Record keeping being Accurate, Timely, Legible/Scrap
Ability to wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses
Dependability/punctuality & Detail Oriented.
High school diploma is preferred.
Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand is required
Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day is required
Ability to work in hot & cold environment is required
Be able to work extended hours and weekend based on business needs is required
Willing & able to work various positions in various departments (cross-trained) is required
Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is required
Able to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations is required
Ability to follow Supervisors instructions/directions as given is required
Possess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative.

Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionality
