About The Position

As a Production Associate I at Sonoco, you will be part of a team that is essential to our operations in the tooling department. This position is located in Wausau, WI, and involves working on the second shift from 3 PM to 11 PM. The role requires maintaining a satisfactory attendance record and ensuring that finished goods meet quality specifications. You will be expected to perform various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, while also participating in team initiatives to maintain workplace standards.

Requirements

• High school graduate with basic math and reading skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions.
• Capable of basic computer navigation and entry for production and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
• Ensure finished goods meet specification and quality expectations.
• Manipulate objects demonstrating mental/muscular coordination.
• Work schedule is 40-56 hours/week, which may include 10-12 hour days and/or some weekend work.
• Lift weights ranging from 10 to 40 pounds, often carrying up to 20 pounds.
• Bend, twist, and reach frequently.
• Perform repetitive arm, wrist, hand, and finger movements.
• Stand and walk continuously on concrete surfaces.
• Accurately calculate and document production and scrap information as required.
• Function as part of a departmental team to maintain 6S levels and participate in area audits and other plant initiatives.
• Carry out additional duties as requested by the supervisor.
