Production Associate- Hobb Operator 2nd shift
About The Position
Position Purpose: Operate all Hobbs and Rack Rollers in the department to machine splines on S-cam shafts Hourly or Salary Range: $16.75 - $19.75 Essential Functions: Maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety standards in the workplace Read work orders to determine material specifications Position work piece against the stops, pushes button and/or depresses pedal to activate machine Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions Check parts visually and with gauges supplied by QA Reports all abnormal conditions to Lead Person or Supervisor Keep machine filed with coolant and oil Complete work order and Hobb Dimension Reports correctly and legibly Follow written and oral work instruction Work well with supervision and co-workers Willingness to run other machines when needed such as but not limited to Heat Treat & Rack Roller Work in a safe manner at all times Keep work area clean at all times Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand continuously for 8 – 12 hours
- Ability to work in tight places
- Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
- Ability to lift 20 pounds repetitively
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively
- Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor
- Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
- Visual (with correction) sufficient to read blueprints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer
- Exposure to a noisy work environment
- Exposure to hot and humid conditions
- Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water
- Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas
- Steel toe boots with integrated metatarsal guards required in production area

- Machine Operator experience helpful
