About The Position

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Machine Operator (Box Maker) within our Manufacturing team to help support our business. Requirements

• Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, including construction blueprints
• Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality
• Ability to lift objects not to exceed 70 pounds and roll drums weighing 500 pounds
• Basic understanding of and full compliance with all standard safety practices
• Willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and their use

Responsibilities

• Manufacture of boxes
• Operate a molding machine to process molding of formed wire to form seating components
• Produce quality product and identify quality issues
• Notify appropriate person to fix machine if necessary
• Perform any other duties required in pursuance of the function of this position or as directed
• Troubleshoot molding problems
• Start molding machines and set molds in machines
• Properly hang molds and water molds
• Change nozzles, nozzle tips, nozzle bands, and barrel bands
