Job Description: Position Summary: The production assistant is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor to achieve production and quality requirements while ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math skills, read, write and understand English
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Microsoft office – Outlook, Excel, Word

Nice To Haves

  • Previous line operator experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates “role model” work habits and fosters teamwork within the department
  • Follows safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions to area manager
  • Assists and supports Production Supervisor in maintaining a safe, structured work environment while driving production throughput
  • Responsibilities may include assisting with root cause analysis/ countermeasures and interacting with other departments.
  • Timely reporting of production issues to Supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and assist Supervisor resolve production issues in a timely manner
  • Identify any opportunities for workflow changes, and collaborate in implementing improvements
  • Ensure proper raw materials/components are to lines as needed by collaborating and communicating with other departments and line operators.
  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are met, and following shift is set up for success
  • Assist with production line set up, change overs, and serve as a back-up
  • Ensure proper raw materials/components are to lines as needed
  • Operate production lines as needed and serve as a backup line operator.
  • Must be able to move/lift cases weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Practice lean principles and participate in events.
  • Other tasks, as assigned.
