About The Position

The Production Assistant (PAs) is a part-time seasonal position reporting directly to the General Manager (GM), responsible for providing administrative and staffing support for events at the SummerStage venue in Central Park. The Production Assistant is responsible for liaising between administrative, production, and front of house staff, including coordinating the organization and distribution of all venue equipment, and assisting with artist and staff needs as applicable. Hours for this position vary according to seasonal needs; PAs can expect to fill calls 4 - 12 hours in length during our season from May to October. Compensation: $20/hour

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years work experience in a performing arts production / back of house capacity
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, some college a plus
  • Previous office administration experience required
  • Working knowledge of Google Docs and Sheets and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Ability to manage assigned special projects independently and to completion
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal and communication skills
  • Extremely dependable punctual, detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors, and in all types of weather
  • Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours
  • Ability and willingness to perform light lifting (up to 15 pounds) as needed
  • Demonstrate good judgment and a professional demeanor
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • Take initiative, forward thinking and anticipating what’s next

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Paychex payroll systems helpful

Responsibilities

  • Assist the GM with maintaining schedules, preparing daily show reports, generating, and filing incident reports
  • Work with AGM to manage production office operations, including the tracking of staff radios, ordering of office supplies, tracking invoices and show costs, and maintaining the general organization and cleanliness of the office.
  • Work daily on the setup of artist green rooms and artist hospitality needs while they are on site
  • Be attentive to the needs of the artist teams throughout the day
  • Working with Production Manager (PM) / Artist teams to coordinate ingress and egress of all performers and their teams
  • Act as vehicle escort for pertinent deliveries and artist transport
  • Provide general assistance as needed to all other venue department heads, including the Venue Manager, Security Director, Front of House Manager, Hospitality Coordinator, and Merchandise Coordinator
  • Facilitate interdepartmental communication
  • Act as ambassador for the organization, answering questions for visitors about the Festival and CPF
