About The Position

The Production Assistant role at The Boring Company is an entry-level position focused on supporting the production and integration teams at the Tunnel Boring Machine factory. The position involves various tasks such as kitting parts, transferring materials, and maintaining inventory records, all aimed at ensuring a smooth manufacturing process. The role requires flexibility in working hours, with 11-hour shifts available on both day and night schedules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with hand/power tools, forklifts, and other heavy equipment.
• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to operate at a high degree of urgency.
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company policies and industry standards.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Ability to travel for short and extended trips as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in heavy construction areas.

Responsibilities

• Kitting for welding: Collecting machined/waterjet parts and retrieving raw material from inventory racks for welders.
• Tracking progress in the inventory system by marking tasks as complete before transferring materials between shops.
• Moving pallets to ensure a continuous flow of material through all manufacturing steps.
• Entering part numbers into the inventory system and locating components in inventory.
