About The Position

The position involves production, assembly, and general labor tasks at Owens Corning. The job requires attention to detail as stacks of doors enter the work area on a conveyor. The employee will perform visual quality checks on the entire stack, repair doors with quality defects, and restack them to meet quality specifications. Unrepairable doors will be placed in a cull door stack and documented on reject sheets. The role also includes operating jump tracks, straightening doors, and pushing door stacks onto infeed tracks of the paint booth. Various tools such as glue guns, palm sanders, sanding blocks, chisels, putty knives, clamps, and application materials like Bondo, hot melt glue, touch-up paint, and putty will be used.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret ticket instructions and specifications.
  • Knowledge of product quality and defect identification.
  • Experience with sanders, planers, and hand tools.
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to use wood craftsmanship tools.
