Job Summary: Gather, arrange, position, fit, fasten, install, and/or assemble parts on production units as instructed. RELATED JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsible for operating more than one type of assembly machinery in more than one department in a safe, efficient, and productive manner. Gather, arrange position, fit, fasten, install, and/or assemble parts on production units as instructed by supervisor or authorized personnel. Must be able to perform satisfactorily under timed or paced assembly line conditions while maintaining high quality and consistency of work. Must be qualified in all assembly jobs. Responsible for the quality of work performed and recognizing defects in parts and assemblies. Monitor assemblies completed at other workstations and perform subsequent checks to ensure critical elements of the assembly process are completed correctly. Count parts as needed. Notify supervisor, lift driver and/or stock-chaser of pending parts shortages. Detect and report unusual conditions to supervisor. Keep facilities, material, and work area orderly, exercising care in use. Maintain good housekeeping practices. Conform to all safety and quality requirements. This list is not all inclusive. Other tasks may be assigned as required. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Reads and follows job task card, routers, specifications and other instructions in order to build and assemble parts and equipment in an accurate and timely fashion. Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together in relationship to each other in accordance with the process manual and work order instructions. Maintains department standards for efficiency, productivity, and quality. Follows all established safety procedures including wearing required PPE and maintaining 5S standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Have dependable transportation.
  • Must submit to and pass any required testing. (background, drug screening, skills testing)
  • Have within the normal range of hearing and eyesight.
  • Be able to work the day, night, or overnight shifts.
  • Be able to work in harmony with others.
  • Must possess problem-solving skills and be a self-starter.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend policies and procedures / rules and regulations written or spoken in English.
  • Must adhere to all safety requirements of Sizemore and any applicable job assignment.
  • Must possess initiative and sound judgement in evaluating and reacting to situations.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Successfully complete all required training classes, either as prerequisite for selection or to ongoing skill building training.

Nice To Haves

  • College or Vocational School degree is preferred.
  • As may be required, forklift driver training and certification.
