About The Position

An Assembler is an integral part of the American Products team. The Assembly team works together to ensure the equipment is assembled in working order, with no defects, and ready to ship to the customer. An assembler will be assigned to a part of the line, but may switch stations in the assembly process at manager or supervisor designation or request.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, shop floor documentation, customer specifications/diagrams, instructions provided by supervisors/managers.
• Must have the mechanical aptitude to assemble products with high quality.
• Requires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
• Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Shows concern for quality and practices continuous improvement
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; crouch and kneel; and must be able to talk and hear.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
• All team members must observe safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly; must wear safety glasses and steel toe boots.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred; not required
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience, in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lifts, positions, and assembles both metal and plastic products using air, battery, and small hand tools, as required
• Packages finished products (boxes, palletizes, and wraps)
• Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
• Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
• Follow company procedures for safety.
• Test finished products for defects.
• Maintain the tools used to create products.
• Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.
