About The Position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is hiring a Production Assembler in our Folsom, California location. The Production Assembler II assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components, and/or electrical/electronic systems to make subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneousequipment. This role fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and productoperating requirements; and may repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements. Given the nature of our work and our organizations ethos, we value trust, honesty, alignment, and transparency. We are on a 9/80 work schedule (9 hour days Monday - Thursday, alternating Fridays off, opposite Fridays 8 hour days). This is a full-time on-site position. This role is a temp-to-hire position with the potential of becoming a regular full-time GD-OTS employee after 90 days, based on performance, attendance, and other determining factors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required and 2-4 years experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevent Education &/or Experience
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to lift/move heavy objects
  • Physical stamina

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational/Technical Training Degree Preferred
  • Previous Experience: Assembly, Calibration, Component Installation, Soldering, Troubleshooting, Functional Testing

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures.
  • Uses hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units.
  • Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards.
  • May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels.
  • Keeps daily assembly production records.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
