About The Position

The Production Area Leader at AOC's Valparaiso, Indiana plant is responsible for directing the activities of four production shifts in a high-performance team environment. This role focuses on setting goals and guiding shift teams to achieve productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping standards while ensuring customer needs are met. The leader will also promote continuous improvement and organizational development within the production area.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Natural Science, or Business Management required.
• 7+ years of total relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of four production shifts in a high-performance team environment.
• Set goals and guide shift teams in achieving productivity, quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure shift teams maintain focus on meeting customer needs and requirements.
• Provide ongoing organizational development to promote continuous improvement in production performance.
• Recruit, identify, and hire qualified employees into the organization.
• Develop and implement employee training plans.
• Ensure adequate staffing to support the production schedule and meet customer demand.
• Develop, interpret, and implement policies for personnel management.
• Coach and counsel employees towards outstanding job performance.
• Monitor operating and cycle efficiencies of batch reactor and formulating processes.
• Monitor execution of the production schedule to maintain on-time performance.
• Maintain assigned ISO work instructions and ensure compliance with record maintenance policies.
• Work with the Plant Engineer to maintain operational readiness of equipment.
• Communicate with the Plant Buyer to maintain adequate inventories of raw materials and supplies.
• Develop housekeeping standards for the production area and monitor compliance.
• Participate in the plant Safety Policy Committee and create safety policies for the production area.
• Promote employee participation in solving problems and improving processes.
