The position involves directing and overseeing the creation and release of shop orders and build orders, ensuring that prioritization aligns with demand, material availability, and company objectives. The role requires the development of accurate and efficient production and assembly schedules, balancing customer priorities, sales forecasts, and component availability. The individual will review, audit, and validate planning processes for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards. Collaboration with Engineering and Purchasing is essential to ensure routing accuracy, coordinate engineering change requests, and proactively identify material shortages. The position also involves monitoring work order status, addressing bottlenecks, and ensuring adherence to the manufacturing schedule. Leadership in supporting Sales and Customer Service is crucial, as is overseeing processes for tracking critical customer orders in the ERP system. The role includes driving initiatives to improve workflow efficiency, implementing best practices for inventory optimization, and ensuring effective use of ERP/MRP systems. Additionally, the individual will supervise and develop production planning staff, set team goals, and ensure compliance with internal policies and safety standards.

  • Monitor and analyze machine capacity and bottlenecks.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production planning staff.
  • Set team goals and conduct performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5-7 years of experience in production planning, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to manage teams.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent business acumen and skills in process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
